For Euro shop an e-commerce store was a must-have in their online strategy. Not only to display their products’ availability but also to market their own labels. PHPro needed to build a powerful but flexible webshop in Magento with modules tailored to the Euro Shop product range.
This was the first e-commerce project for Euro Shop, which created some challenges both technically and strategically.
First of all, we had to set up an API between the ERP and Magento. All data, from stock updates to order processing, had to find its way to Magento.
Euro Shop also wanted webshop visitors to view product stock of their physical stores. In addition, visitors also had to be able to configure certain products themselves. This required a great deal of custom development.
Finally, the Euro Shop team also had to switch from an offline to an online mentality. The entire organisation had to immerse itself in e-commerce in a short space of time. They had to learn to work in the Magento back-end, adapt informative web content (catalogue) into convincing web content (e-commerce), etc.
The project started with a technical analysis of Euro Shop’s online needs and the matching features in Magento.
Then, our UX designer set out to create a modern and user-friendly design that would be technically feasible with minimal custom development.
The webshop was then built, tested and optimised by our technical experts. After that, we developed additional modules such as physical store stock views and configurable products.
