The construction industry is in the midst of digitalization, and this is thanks to initiatives such as Smartyard's B2B platform. The concept is to bring together lessees and lessors of construction machinery and site equipment through an application. Together with PHPro, Smartyard was developed into the platform it is today. Smartyard has been available to the general public since September 2019, and the initial successes have not been left behind. Smartyard won the Best in B2B of the FeWeb Excellence Awards in December 2019. The FeWeb Awards are the references for digital expertise in web building, e-commerce and digital marketing.
PHPro implemented Scrum at Smartyard. This methodology allows Smartyard to add value to the platform on a regular basis and better respond to the needs of tenants and landlords.
Smartyard's B2B platform brings together tenants and landlords in the construction industry. Previously, this process was done manually. Planners or construction company site managers called landlords through a scheduling service.
With the B2B platform, this process has been digitized, simplified and much more organized.
The company Smartyard originated from contractor Aertssen. Smartyard was originally an idea that originated within Aertssen among top management who noticed that hiring equipment was a very time-consuming and inefficient process. This was followed by an innovation campaign among Aertssen employees who also confirmed the need for a solution to the cumbersome hiring process.
