The family business JBC is with its +-130 stores one of the largest fashion retailers in Belgium. Given the competition names; H&M, C&A and Esprit, there was the need to provide a highly efficient and innovative webshop. The company came with a demand for professional assistance concerning analysis and implementation. They decided to use the Magento Enterprise editon as platform.
This project achieved deep integration with existing systems. In addition to the communication with the ERP platform and the CRM packages, there were also interfaces written for the newsletter tool and the loyalty system. Also the necessary API connections such as those of bpost, Ogone, Google, etc.. were implemented.
Several modifications where made to the default behaviour of Magento. The traditional way of finishing an order was reviewed. Multiple modules were programmed to facilitate the logistics and support the stores in their delivery- and customer care process. All these changes were made in a way that they best fit in the business structure of JBC.
We decided to use Magento not only as a webshop but also as a tool that can be used for product picking and packing. For this, a custom interface was written that allows barcode scanning during the whole wharehouse management proces. The same story is reflected in each store, where the staff uses a Magento backend module that receives the packages. All customers will be informed by email so they know when to pickup their order or when it's almost expired. This in the most automated way possible.
The future brings a few challenging projects that are necessary to provide a better customer service. JBC is developing an extensive omni-channel strategy, starting with a responsive webshop and bringing that webshop to each store.
